چکیده

SUMMARY Wide-apart double defect in head and neck region is rare and difficult to reconstruct at one time. Double free flaps are normally used for this scenario and often tedious and technically complicated. This study presented a technique using branch-based anterolateral thigh free flap to simultaneously reconstruct the 2 defects separated wide apart. The concept, indications, surgical technique, and anatomical variations are discussed. Branch-based anterolateral thigh flap is a safe technique and the dissection will be easy when the oblique branch is present.

Reconstruction With Pedicled Anterolateral Thigh Flap After Wide Local Excision of Penoscrotal Extramammary Paget's Disease: A Case Report and Comprehensive Literature Review

OBJECTIVE The clinical characteristics, management, and prognostic indicators of penoscrotal extramammary Paget's disease are not clearly defined. Surgical excision is often an effective treatment modality but results in a large wound after resection of all involved tissues. METHODS Reconstruction of large penoscrotal soft-tissue defects after wide local excision remains a challenge to the re...

ImageS gested reverse-flow anterolateral thigh flap and the clinical course of this flap with a literature review. A 54-year-old male patient presented with a mass of 7×6 cm on the left knee. Biopsy of the lesion revealed a myxofibrosarcoma. The distant metastasis was not detected in preoperative evaluation. The oblique branch trap in the harvest of the anterolateral thigh myocutaneous flap.

A 67-year-old man with squamous cell carcinoma underwent reconstruction with a free anterolateral thigh myocutaneous flap. Unroofing the skin perforators found that the skin perforators originated from the oblique branch of the lateral circumflex femoral artery with no connections with the descending branch. Thus, the flap was harvested based on the oblique branch, leaving the descending branch...
